What we need:
Brady is seeking a Senior Product Compliance Engineer is responsible for supporting and executing processes and activities to ensure Brady products comply with the required regulations in various global markets. The position will support compliance for a diverse range of Brady products. The person hired will be expected to develop global regulatory knowledge impacting Brady products, analyze compliance data using various tools, and make determinations as related to product regulatory compliance status of Brady products. This includes identifying part numbers, analyzing bill of materials (BOMs) for new and existing products, evaluating supplier compliance data, as well as answering customer requests for compliance information. In addition, the position will play a key role in New Product Development/New Product Introductions and must be able to work with cross-functional team members (R&D, Marketing, IT, and Master Data) in a diverse and global environment to ensure compliance to all applicable regulations and standards.

What you'll be doing:

  • Read, understand, and stay current on applicable standards and regulations impacting Brady products including, but not limited to, EU REACH, EU and other global ROHS regulations, California Proposition 65, EU Packaging Directive, Conflicts Minerals, TSCA, PFAS, Forced Labor and Human Trafficking, and Heavy Metals
  • Communicate regulatory requirements across the organization and provide guidance and training to cross-functional teams on the impact of various regulations on Brady products
  • Perform analysis as related to product regulatory compliance, utilizing necessary data sources to determine product compliance status and respond to customer requests
  • Review product compliance documentation for accuracy and validity
  • Analyze multi-level BOMs to calculate/determine the compliance status of finished products
  • Develop and publish internal processes, procedures, reports, and metrics on Brady's Product compliance initiatives, product testing, and customer requests
  • Support continuous improvement of Brady's compliance processes and tools
  • Other duties as assigned

What you'll need to be successful:

  • A BA/BS degree in a technical or scientific discipline
  • In-depth knowledge of SAP and understanding of BOM structures as related to regulatory compliance (e.g., REACH, RoHS, packaging, heavy metals, and other global, regional, country, or state-specific regulations)
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications (Word, Excel, PowerPoint).
  • Must have technical aptitude to understand compliance requirements, programs, and applications
  • Must demonstrate the ability to manage multiple priorities and tasks according to communicated schedules and deadlines
  • Strong time management skills and proven problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Excellent oral/written communication skills and the ability to effectively communicate to all levels of the organization
  • Self-motivated with ability to work independently and as part of a team
  • Strong work ethic and collaboration skills to be able to work with cross-functional teams and other departments to achieve objectives
  • Strong customer focus, drive for results, and delivering quality results on time
