Job Summary:
To have a solid knowledge base and working proficiency in the skills of Respiratory Care and Pulmonary Rehabilitation practices, procedures and techniques.
Principal Duties and Responsibilities:
The following is a summary of the major functions of this individual's job. They may perform other duties, both major and minor, which are not mentioned below, and specific functions may change from time to time.
*Completes or participates in and documents an initial patient assessment.
* Identifies pulmonary risk factors, manifestations of disease and lifestyle modification needs.
* Reviews diagnostic data such as exercise test results, PFT's, ABG's, and X-ray reports.
* Performs necessary physical assessments
* Performs ongoing assessments according to standards of care and patient condition.
* Develops or assists in the development of a plan of care.
* Assesses and evaluates patients on oxygen therapy.
* Provides care according to policy and procedure.
* Evaluates patient response to interventions
* Organizes workload so there is effective utilization of work time.
* Respects the privacy of patients/customers and the confidentiality of information. * Maintains supportive and constructive behavior
* Demonstrates proficiency in the skills specific to Cardiac Rehabilitation and/or Pulmonary Rehabilitation.
Minimum Education, Training and Experience Required:
A. Active Kentucky License.
B. CRT credential from the NBRC.
C. BCLS.
D. ACLS.
